Jack Morse will turn a Norfolk Island Pine blank. N.I. Pine limbs grow at a five degree angle upward and have five branches all on the same plain. They are usually turned in an upside down position as the branches will slant down and form a five point star on top of a vessel. Branches can be a bright red and contrast with the pine wood be it plain or spalted. These can make outstanding pieces of art. Although they grow all around the world they are tropical and we don't see any north of Tampa. Also as part of this class David Hughes has asked us to try out and give feedback on a new hollowing tool from Carter. We'll all watch as Jack put's it through a demo. With Carter's reputation this system could be the "One".
