At the regularly scheduled 8:00 class, Steve Mellott will show how he turns multi-colored ornaments. The blanks he uses includes features from Ted Baldwin's jewelry class as well as one of Ron Brown's DVDs. Blanks will include multicolored woods as well as acrylic pen blanks. He will also show how a scroll saw can be used to prepare a blank for turning. After the class (about 9:45), Steve will conduct a class on basic ornament turning skills. If you'd like to participate in the ornament turning workshop (either as a participant or instructor), please bring a spindle gouge, parting tool and roughing gouge. If you don't have those tools, we will find some for you to use. Of course, you should also bring your safety glasses and face shield.
