Our guest today is Sonny Franks. Sonny studied art at Clemson and is the owner of a local sign studio. He is also a leader in the Letterhead Movement, a small group of artists dedicated to preserving and passing on methods used in the past. They are considered "Keepers of the Craft". Sonny has literally traveled the world studying the old traditions and methods of gilding.
Today Sonny will give an overview of gilding and demonstrate methods used to lay real gold. This class is a must see if you ever wanted to add that extra special touch to your work. You won't be disappointed.
