This will not be a typical club demonstration where someone stands in front of the seated group and demonstrates how to turn a Widget. Nor is it a formal class with an instructor. It is more like getting together with a turning buddy in your shop, except with more lathes and more buddies!
The local Atlanta Woodcraft store is generously making their classroom with eight Jet mini lathes and chucks available to us at no cost for this session. Bring your own turning tools and face protection. You may want to bring a current turning project you are working on or a piece of wood or two. If you are just getting started, you can just bring yourself and a face mask or safety glasses. Woodcraft is also offering a 10% discount on woodturning related purchases for GWA participants during the hours of the event.
Come to learn, come to help teach a new member or just come to watch. All GWA members are welcome.
