Chuck Roberts, an engineer and patented inventor, has been working wood and metal for over 40 years. He does carving, turning, boxes, furniture and other items using wood, glass, stone and precious metals and does his own silver sculpting and plating. One of his specialties is making non-linear coopered boxes. During this class, Chuck will show several of these coopered boxes and describe the process that he uses to cut the very precise joints needed to fit the parts together. He does all this with a standard table saw, without the use of any special sleds, fences or gadgets! Chuck's work is collected internationally and many pieces have won ribbons including First Place and Best of Show in juried competitions. He is a member of the American Craft Council, the National Association of Independent Artists and the Wood Workers Guild of Georgia.
