In this class, you will learn all you need to know about buying hardwood lumber. We will be talking about board measurements (e.g. board foot, 4/4, 8/4, etc.), grain orientation (flatsawn, quartersawn, riftsawn), grading (select, common, shorts, etc), milling (S2S, S3S, etc.), figure (birds eye, quilted, curley, etc.) and much more. We will discuss the processing of rough lumber and there will also be a lumber identification contest. Gift certificates to Stone Mountain Power Tool will be awarded to the winners!
