Born in Pakistan, Sabiha Mujtaba was raised and educated in London, England.  After moving to Atlanta in 1981, she formed Chrysalis Woodworks in 1986, where she designs and makes original custom wood furniture.  During her career, she has attended seminars and workshops given by a number of woodworking masters including Sam Maloof, James Krenov, Silas Kopf and Wendy Maruyama.

Sabiha's furniture pieces can be seen in publications including "500 tables, 500 chairs" by Lark Books and to-be-released in July "Today's Furniture Makers" by Shiffer Publishing.  She teaches woodworking at Highland Woodworking, the Academy of the Oaks, and Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina.  She has exhibited in various national galleries and invitational shows.  Currently two pieces are in the Habatat Gallery in Virginia in conjunction with the Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC.  She is also a recipient of the Freda Maloof Scholarship at Anderson Ranch and the NICHE awards.

During this class, Sabiha will narrate a slide presentation depicting many of her completed works and will then demonstrate power carving with the Arbortech tools.  You can learn more about Sabiha through her website http://www.chrysaliswoodworks.com/index.html
