Contact Bob Aldea and MIke Peace

Many of us make small projects such as boxes, bowls, pens, trivets, etc.  After completing the project, we often cringe when its time to apply the finish.  If you'd like to learn more about this aspect of the project, then this class is for you.  Mike Peace and Bob Aldea will be discussing the use of shellac, oil, spray can lacquer and spray can acrylic finishes.  They will discuss the application procedures, the costs and the pros/cons of each type of finish.  They will also show completed projects so you can see what each finish actually looks like.  Finally, Mike will be demonstrating the Beall buffing system so you can see how buffing can enhance the final finish of a completed project.  You don't have to be a turner to use a buffing system - a "Beall type" system can be used on a mini-lathe or a bench grinder.

Location Kentec Megatools / Stone Mountain Power Tool Company - Lilburn
