This week our group enjoyed a favorite event, which is our shop tour day.
The host's were Bob Brokaw and Butch Davis.  Our members are always interested in how others lay out and make the best use of space available. We usually hear comments like "I could do something like this in my shop" or "I wish I had this much space". Of course the host says, "If I only had more space".

At my shop, there were comments and questions on segmented design and construction as well as pen turning.  Of course many discussions on dust control and how systems compare.  As always the best part is to have a chance to visit and to have those great chats.  Many thanks to the twenty or so that visited my shop.  I enjoyed it.

At mine, numerous people had comments like "It's so organized", "It's so clean", "You generate that big furniture out of this small space?"  I explained that the dust control system consisted of throwing open the garage door and turning on the pneumatic broom (electric leaf blower).  Of particular interest was the assortment of welders that co-existed with the woodworking equipment.  Thanks to the two dozen (plus or minus) that spent some time with fellow woodworkers at a member shop.
